DEVOTEES are flocking mandirs and even private residences where miraculous occurrences of murtis of Lord Shiva are accepting offerings of milk and water.

In the home of Anita Boodram, who has a tiny altar with a small Murti of Lord Shiva next to a Shivalingam in Leonora, West Coast Demerara, the Father of the Universe has blessed with incandescence the offerings of Anita and others flocking in droves to her home as the word spreads like wildfire.
Many emperors would give fortunes to be in Anita’s place right now, because the Supreme Lord has graced her humble abode with his presence. I was unashamedly reduced to tears and brought to my knees as the Lord accepted a spoonful of water from my hands in that humble dwelling.
Anita said that she received a phone call from her brother, Pt Nello from De Willem mandir, last Tuesday night informing her of this ‘miracle’ that had just occurred in his home as he offered prayers.  She immediately ran downstairs and offered water to her Shivaji murti and was overjoyed to the point of tears as the Lord accepted her offering.
Parvati Deosarran, visiting Guyana from Florida, who experienced this divine bliss promised that she would gift a murti for her transcendental experience in that simple home.
At the Meter-Meer-Zorg East Vishnu Mandir, Vice-Chairman of Region Three, Mr. Dinesh Prashad, known as Harold, was trying to control the crowds flocking to witness this miraculous event. He indicated the murtis of Lord Shiva and Mother Durga, side by side, being offered and accepting the milk, with even children seeking the blessings of the devtas.
The same was occurring in the Shiv mandir outside the temple.
Caretakers of the temple, Punwattie (Paro) and Janet received an early call from Baby, a devotee  who had gone to the temple to offer prayers very early and had experienced the phenomenon and they immediately rushed down and discovered for themselves that a miracle was occurring in their mandir. The word soon spread and the crowds began pouring in.
But it was at De Willem mandir that a young child tried offering water to the murti of Lord Vishnu and discovered that even that Lord was gracing Guyana’s devotees with His presence. Subsequently, right in the De Willem mandir, it was discovered that all the murtis were accepting the simple liquid offerings.  After Shivaji, I can testify that Lord Vishnu accepted offering of water from me, as did the murtis of the divine mothers, right in the De Willem temple. Even the offering I placed at the trunk of Ganeshji was graciously accepted by that devta.
A couple of years ago, during the auspicious period of Navraat the three mothers – Maha Durga, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Sarswattie were manifesting sindoor in mandirs across the country and I experienced that ‘miracle’ in the Radha Krishna mandir in Camp Street, Georgetown. Yesterday, all across the nation, from Crabwood Creek in Berbice to Charity in Essequibo, devotees witnessed another miraculous phenomenon. Guyana is truly God’s chosen land.
