A MAN and a woman were remanded to prison yesterday on a joint drug trafficking charge.

Sean King and Gem Jacobs, of Lethem, Rupununi, Region 9, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said that, on March 9, they trafficked in 69 grammes of cannabis (marijuana).
Police Corporal Seon Blackman, prosecuting, noting that bail is granted only for special reasons, successfully objected to the grant, and the couple will remain incarcerated until their next appearance in another court, to which the case has been transferred, on June 4.
