THE UPPER Demerara Football Association (UDFA) will convene its Annual General Meting (AGM) and Elections on Thursday March 14, at the Boardroom of the Regional Democratic Council of Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice).

In a release from secretary of the UDFA, Ms Cindy Sagon, which was sent to the presidents and secretaries of the 10 affiliated clubs, the UDFA sought and obtained approval from the governing Guyana Football Federation (GFF) to hold its AGM and elections.
As a result, they were given the green light to go ahead with the very important business of that meeting which is to start at 16:50hrs.
The 10 affiliated clubs of the UDFA who were invited are Amelia’s Ward United, Winners Connection, Blueberry Hill United, Vasco, Eagles United, Botafago, Net Rockers, Milerock, Silver Shattas and Bakewell Topp XX.
Clubs have been notified also that they are to submit nominations for positions on the Executive Committee of the UDFA which must be duly seconded and sent to the secretary by Wednesday March 6 for consideration.
The agenda for the meeting includes the reading of the minutes of the last AGM, president’s report to be given by acting president Sharma Solomon, the financial report, motions and questions before the election of office-bearers.
It is expected that Sharma Solomon, who was a vice-president of the UDFA before Dr Joseph Haynes resigned from that position, will be contesting the position of president along with another vice-president Jermaine Figuiera and overseas-based Garth Nelson (Jr).
