THE LINDEN Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) last evening named a thirteen-man senior side from which its final twelve will be named just before jump ball tonight, but has named its twelve juniors who will take on their Georgetown counterparts in the first game of a doubleheader this evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The LABA teams are to face the stern test from their Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) counterparts as the GABA bounces off its 2013 season with this doubleheader feature.
Included in the senior team is National captain Steve Neils (Jr). Other national players on this current Linden side are centre Shane Webster and forward Neil Marks. Shane’s brother Allister will join him in the front court along with Quincy Jones and Harold Adams. Robert Byass, the former national player, is the coach of the Linden senior team.
However, this side looks a bit small in size so the running game from the mining town lads will be expected.
The other members of that senior team are Mark Louis, former national shooting guard Orin Rose, forward Chris Williams, young Keon Cameron and Michael Turner, Marlon Pollydore and Rodwell Pellew.
The Linden Juniors, who will be coached by Oscar Adams and Colin Barker, will come from Kyle Stewart, Keifer Tappin, Aminiki Archibald, Parrish Cadogan, Selwyn Noble, Jamal Williams, Stravin Dryden, Jamar Bethune, Akeel Primo, Joel Webster, Sheldron Noel and Dennis Niles.
