THE Guyana-Brazil working group will be continuing its engagements next month as the two countries work to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon at his weekly post-Cabinet press briefing at the Office of the President, said that the working group has established three sub-committees.
The first meeting focused on the two states’ respective national institutions, arrangements for projects, design, implementation, and financing.
Guyana’s infrastructure interests revolved around the Linden-Lethem road, hydropower development and export of energy, and the deep water port facility in the Berbice River.
On February 2021, the working group held engagements at the Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC), Liliendaal.
The working group meeting provides the opportunity for the two countries to be innovative in their approach to meeting some of the infrastructure gaps that exist in both nations, be it, the growing demand for energy in Brazil, or the demand for infrastructure in Guyana.
The meeting is a signal of the commitment by both countries’ leaders towards advancing bilateral cooperation which will ultimately lead to the improvement of lives for the respective citizens of both countries.
