CARL Crandon (no address given) appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell on a drug trafficking charge and was remanded to prison yesterday. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said that, last January 31, he trafficked 65 grammes of cannabis (marijuana).
Police Corporal Denise Booker, prosecuting, said the defendant attempted to smuggle the narcotic into the Camp Street, Georgetown prison and she asked that he be denied bail, since it is only granted for special reasons.
The defendant told the court that he was already on remand in a break and enter and larceny case and alleged that the police made up the allegation against him.
Crandon has to be back in Court March 25.
