It was a moving, emotional and pleasing experience for Miss India Guyana-2013, Katherina Roshana, to host and serve the children of the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre. Katherina Roshana considered herself blessed to serve them. She was surprised and pained to see such love for life, such laughter, such happiness in the faces and hearts of the children, many of whom are physically challenged.
She served a wholesome and delicious breakfast and was amazed at their creativity, and drive to acquire education and to develop talents such as knitting, making of flowers and dolls. The smiles and contentment, their acceptance of fate and gratitude are the hallmarks of greatness, Katherina Roshana, Miss India Guyana 2013, said.
She shed tears when they sang a farewell love song for her, and even trembled with emotion, leaving the premises emotionally moved and filled with love of humanity.
It was noted by Katherina that the staff are most competent, caring, and the home of the children is most hygienic.
Katherina says, “These souls serve here not for their salaries, but for the joy of serving mankind, caring for children who always need love.” She asks the people of Guyana to do more for them and for other unfortunate children.
Katherina Roshana will officially be crowned this evening at a gala cultural extravaganza at the Princess Hotel. Katherina will do a special Thank You Dance performance, and also the Apsara Group will stimulate the invitees and guests with splendid dances.
