Handcuffed and shackled when escorted into the courtroom, the accused wore a blank expression on his face as Inspector Burgette Grant, prosecuting, told the Court of the circumstances under which the crime was committed.
The Prosecutor said Samuels and the aunt of the now deceased boy were at home when the boy returned from school at around 13:30 hrs, and the latter ran out of the house and shouted “Rape!”
The accused then turned his attention to the child, and stabbed him several times about his body.
The injured boy was rushed to the Linden Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Samuels was remanded to prison, and will make his next appearance on February 12 at the Christianburg Magistrate’s Court in Linden, to where the case has been transferred.
