First Lady prays the Prophet’s teaching will help us promote harmony and peace
I EXTEND heartfelt greetings to all Guyanese and especially to our Muslim brothers and sisters on this the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohamed.

altIt is my fervent hope that the observances for Youman Nabi will this year contribute to a greater appreciation of the exemplary life of the Holy Prophet and a deeper understanding of his teachings and their relevance towards overcoming the many difficulties that afflict human societies.
The Prophet himself encouraged greater understanding amongst peoples as the noblest path to peace and reconciliation. Today as we look around our society, we see that there are many fractures in relationships both inside and outside of the home. However, with a sincere effort at promoting greater understanding between disputing parties, it is possible to mend these fissures thereby reducing conflict and violence.
Therefore as we join with our Muslim brothers and Sisters in observing the birth of the Prophet Mohamed, may we all continue to draw inspiration from his admirable life! And may his teachings help to further the goal of promoting harmony and peace within our country.
Happy Youman Nabi to all!

FITUG urges tolerance and co-existence
AS Muslims around the world observe their Founder and Prophet’s Birth – Youman Nabi – the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Guyana (FITUG) joins Islam’s Guyanese followers in celebrating the arrival of one of mankind’s Shapers of History and Spirituality.
Youman Nabi’s son, the Prophet Mohamed, On Who Be Peace (OWBP), was to live and establish a global and universal religious movement now embraced by millions of mankind. On this Youman Nabi Birth Anniversary, FITUG joins in reflecting on those teachings of the Prophet (OWBP) having to do with peace, racial tolerance and wealth.
Reportedly, the Prophet taught that “we are all one and the difference in our complexion, language and culture are only a sign from Allah and a means of knowing one another”.
FITUG is certain that the Prophet (OWBP) would want his followers and all of humankind to behave in ways which stress all that is positive in all human beings. From racial prejudice to the use of wealth, Prophet Mohamed (OWBP) uitlised all his faculties – from Birth to Death – to teach messages of tolerance and co-existence – so necessary in today’s Guyana.
May Youman Nabi inspire reflection and consequent demonstrations of the Founder’s teaching for Guyana and the World around us!

PPP says we must rededicate ourselves to Prophet’s great human ideals
THE People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has extended best wishes to all Guyanese and to the Muslim Community in particular, on the occasion of Youman Nabi.
The PPP said this anniversary is taking place at a time when Guyana is struggling to consolidate democracy and expand social justice.
“In this regard, we can take lesson from the life of the Prophet who also led many struggles for justice, peace and equality,” the party stated.
“Today, as we observe Youman Nabi, we must rededicate ourselves to these great human ideals,” the PPP posited.
“We must also remember to give solidarity to those struggling against oppression everywhere especially in the Middle East and other places rocked by upheavals where people are fighting for justice and dignity,” the party said.
“Once again, best wishes to all on the occasion of Youman Nabi,” the PPP statement concluded.

As our hearts are filled with great joy
Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (Youman Nabi) greetings from The Guyana United Sadr Islamic Anjuman
THE Guyana United Sadr Islamic Anjuman (GUSIA) takes the opportunity to extend to our Muslim Community and the Guyanese Nation, greetings on the occasion of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi or Youman Nabi.
This day, which observes the advent of God’s best creation, the Prophet Muhammad (SAS), is a day which must fill the hearts of Mankind with great joy. He was the person who translated in his life, qualities that are associated with great character.
Generations of nations are preserved by his teachings. They experienced progress in their affairs to the extent that indelible footprint of the past and guidance of the future permeates the history of mankind. The establishment of progressive nations and successful people are results of adherence to the guidance of Prophet Muhammad (SAS), the final Prophet of God to mankind.
Muhammad (SAS) as a prophet of God, leader of a great nation of which reaches over one billion followers today, lived a simply yet distinguished life. He mended his own clothes, detested pomp and pride, and was most humble in his accomplishments. Prophet Muhammad (SAS) advocated for the poor and needy and was a friend to the downtrodden. He solidified friendship between sworn enemies and established communities that are unified in aims, objectives and purposes.

Prophet Muhammad commanded respect by his honesty, fairness and compassion for his followers and enemies alike. His opponents were very harsh yet he opened to them his generosity of kindness. No person was too insignificant in his sight and no one was more honourable than another was, unless s/he was stronger in faith and belief.
We join with Muslims throughout the world to remind all of the eminence and virtues of this great but honourable leader of mankind and to echo the feelings of love, dedication and commitment to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAS).
In this age of political instability, ethnic and racial violence, greed, materialism and uncertainties, the teachings of this great prophet must be explored more carefully. We will have to extract the ingredients of nation building, religious and spiritual codes and appropriate moral, social and economic disciplines to establish strong progressive nations populated with citizens who are cognizant of their duty first to God, the Creator and to fellow occupants of this earth.
We join to express joy and goodness on this special occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Youman Nabi) and to pray for continued personal spiritual growth from the life of Prophet Mohammad (SAS), the final Prophet of God to all mankind.

Rekindling our souls with the light lit by Him
WHEN tribalism, political turmoil, moral and social chaos was rampant, a child was born into poverty and deprivation. He rose up to become a man who by example pioneered a new way of life that heralded into a worldwide admiration of principles that changed the course of civilization.
Over 1400 years ago was born the Greatest Benefactor to Mankind, Hazrat Muhammad, (SAS) the Prophet of Islam, fulfilling a prophecy of the finality of prophet-hood on earth to guide mankind towards good.
He changed mankind’s way of thinking towards the recognition of God and His commandments. He influenced people’s behaviour and altered their evil inclinations. He came as a Mercy unto Mankind and was emulated in his character and disposition that helped transformed brutal men into sacred personalities.
His life was a means in which rulers and subjects alike, copied the art of leadership, nation building, family orientation, political stability, economic reforms and last but not least, spiritual elevation. He, the Best of All Creation (Ussawatul Hassanat), provided civilization on earth with the direction of great success in this life and the life Hereafter.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi or Youman Nabi (SAS) or the day in observance of the coming of this personality is once again being observed in our country and worldwide. In many ways, the situation in our world reflects similar situations as when the Prophet of Islam came into the world. Therefore, the solutions for much of these present problems will lie in looking at the life of this great personality and how he solved the problems in that age.
The simple fact of the Prophet Muhammad (SAS) is that his contribution spans every age and every period of civilization on earth. Prophet Muhammad as the final messenger of God to mankind brought a message of total inoculation against the evil of society. He liberated women and provided a system to maintain stability in the home, society and the world. He taught mankind how to preserve their honour and property and infused in them the understanding of respect, compassion, love and concern for each other. In fact, with the highest form of credibility, Prophet Muhammad translated for them in his life these qualities in the most impeccable manner.
The Anna Catherina Islamic Complex, Guyana’s Centre of Sunni Islam, calls on all Muslims to observe special prayers for the solidarity, prosperity and integrity of the Muslim community, local and worldwide, our country and our world at large. ACIC urges the people to strengthen national unity by emulating the foot-steps of the Holy Prophet. Use the teachings of the Holy Prophet and rekindle our souls with the light lit by him.
