A POST-MORTEM performed on the body of Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Lance Corporal Eon Blair, by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh, found that the cause of death was lung failure and blockage of the heart. Blair, of Lot 305 Number 51 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, died after complaining of chest pains during the army’s fitness run, about 05:45 hrs, on January 18.

He was immediately put into the accompanying ambulance and taken to the Force’s Medical Centre at Camp Ayanganna, then, subsequently, transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) where he died.
Blair was a serving member of the GDF for nine years, having enlisted in 2004, the Army confirmed.
