KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) – Jamaica wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh says he is now ready to get on with his career after he was recalled to training for the forthcoming regional Super50 and four-day competitions.
Baugh was left out of Jamaica’s squad for the current Caribbean Twenty20 tournament because of a dispute with his club Melbourne CC.
The first choice wicketkeeper failed to turn out for Melbourne in the local 20-overs club competition and so was deemed ineligible for the Caribbean T20.
“At this stage as far as I am concerned all ends are tied up at the moment and pretty much everything is pretty straightforward from here on,” said Baugh in an interview with TVJ.
“I am back in the national setup so obviously everything is pretty much on the table right now.”
Baugh was named on a 13-man Jamaica squad consisting of several players in the CT20 in St Lucia such as captain Tamar Lambert and deputy David Bernard.
Baugh says all outstanding issues have been dealt with and he is now ready to take on the task of representing Jamaica.
“To be honest my back is against the wall at this point. I am always under pressure whether I am making a comeback or I am there playing,” said Baugh.
“It’s nothing new to me. It’s just for me to come and do what I need to do and get everything back where it was.”
Jamaica begin the defence of their regional Super50 title against Barbados February 7, Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.
