MAGISTRATE Adela Nagamootoo, yesterday, imposed a one-year jail sentence on Audrey Cummings who had two grammes of cocaine in her crotch when Police carried out a search at her St. John Street, New Amsterdam, Berbice home.

The Police, acting on information, had gone to the woman’s residence to look for prohibited articles but Cummings was observed acting suspiciously.
Consequently, she was escorted to Central Police Station where a female rank unearthed six rock-like substances which weighed two grammes.
Cummings had, initially, denied the charge but was found guilty following a trial and also fined $10,000.
