COURT regular Corwin Duff was returned to jail the same day he was released from prison after he was arrested on a charge of break-and-enter and larceny. Of no fixed place of abode, Duff appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo at the New Amsterdam Magistrates Court to answer a charge of breaking and entering Shevon Norton’s business premises at Main and Trinity Streets, New Amsterdam, on December 13 last, and allegedly stealing five caps and one pair of slippers.
Prosecutor Orin Joseph told the court that Norton had secured her business place at around 19:00 hrs on December 12, before she left for home; but upon returning the next day, she noticed her business place had been broken into, so an alarm was raised, and the police were informed.
Acting on information, Duff was arrested, and the items were found with him.
The accused was granted bail in sum of $15,000., but having no money, he was remanded to prison until February 12, when his matter would again be called in court.
