Relatives said that he was attacked and robbed of cash and jewellery and in the process was stabbed and succumbed to his injuries.
Brother of the deceased, Tulsieram Ramsahoye also known as Anno, who lives a few houses away, stated that his mother saw that Vicky’s shop was still shut and they decided to phone him. However, there was no answer which made the family very concerned as the man was alone in the house as his wife is presently staying at her mother’s residence.
Ramsahoye said his other brother went over to the home first and found that his door was already opened and Ramsahoye was lying downstairs in a pool of blood.
He said that his brother raised an alarm at the sight and other persons came out.
He revealed that a further search of the home showed that the bedroom was ransacked and on the various furniture and walls of the house were bloody handprints.
Ramsahoye further stated that the handprints were also seen on the broken chest where the man kept his money as well as on the jewelry box, all of which were empty.
The wardrobe and drawers in the room were also ransacked and the draw which also contained money was empty.
He indicated that when he rushed over, he saw his brother’s body he noticed that there were three stab wounds on his chest.
Ramsahoye stated that there was no forged entry into the home which led them to believe that it wasn’t a break and enter situation.
He also said that the family has always lived a peaceful life and his brother was a person who never got into a fight or argument with anyone and was described as being a very loving and down to earth person.
He noted that the deceased has been living with the family all the time, but approximately seven months ago when he got married, he branched off and went off with his own business but still kept a very close relationship with his family and visited them almost every day.
Mother of the deceased, Sorojanie Ramsahoye lamented that only last year she lost her husband and this morning she heard her eldest son died.
In tears, she stated that she doesn’t know who would commit such an act as her son was never bad to anyone and he was very free handed and helpful.
She stated that she wants justice for her son and will go to all lengths to make certain of that.
Ramsahoye leaves to mourn two younger brothers, his mother and his wife who is reportedly expecting their first child.
Up to the time the Guyana Chronicle visited yesterday, no one had been held in connection with the murder. Police investigations are still ongoing.
