Greatest of the Streets to be decided tomorrow night

TOMORROW night, all roads lead to the National Park tarmac for the final showdown in this year’s Petra-organised Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Futsal football competition, when defending champions Back Circle clash with Leopold Street for the title.

altOn Tuesday night at the National Cultural Centre tarmac, the semifinal round saw some stiff competition displayed as Leopold Street secured a place in the final after defeating West Front Road on penalty kicks then the night wrapped up with Back Circle taking one step closer to defending their title as they needled Broad Street B in the other semi.
The first semi saw Leopold Street and West Front deadlocked at nil-all at end of full time which drove the match into a penalty shootout, where Leopold Street’s Konata Manning, a former national midfielder scored the lone penalty that gave them the win.
In the other semi, a Wayne Wilson goal, which was scored in the 17th minute for Back Circle, sealed the fate of the opposition who desperately hunted for an equaliser.
Meanwhile, the exhibition part of the tournament also entered its final stages and the victor will be decided tomorrow night.
Prior to the Greatest of the Streets semis on Tuesday night, Guinness Bar defeated GT Masters 1-0 in the first semi then Clippers Barbershop and Upper Level Barbershop drew 1-1 and in tomorrow’s issue the final fixture for this part of the tournament will be revealed.
