Development plans discussed at Supenaam interactive

CHAIRMAN of Region 2 (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Parmanand Persaud visited the port of entry and proposed town of Supenaam recently and interacted with hire car drivers, speedboat operators and farmers. He inspected the wharf, spoke to several farmers who were discharging produce from their boats and reminded them that the pier was constructed by government for that purpose.
Persaud congratulated the farmers for their hard work to ensure that Guyana remains the bread basket of the Caribbean and urged them to increase production and contribute to the national ‘Grow More Food’ drive.
He also explained government’s development plans, especially the hydropower project and the benefits it will have for Guyanese.
Persaud spoke about undergoing works in the region under the capital programme and farmers and others in the audience said they were happy to interact with him and discuss many issues.
