CANU finds cocaine in container at John Fernandes wharf

A CUSTOMS and Narcotics Unit (CANU) officer, along with Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) officials and wharf officials at the John Fernandes Limited wharf in Georgetown, yesterday afternoon seized a container with a quantity of cocaine between sacks of soap powder destined for Africa. This newspaper contacted an official from CANU who indicated that its officers and GRA officials, acting on a tip-off, intercepted the container, and examination of the items in it is being done.
