Commuters call for strong Pplice action against dogs

SEVERAL dogs belonging to a gas station owner at Bounty Hall on Essequibo Coast attacked a cyclist last Sunday night. Reports said the animals, which are allowed to roam the public road near a bridge, are very vicious and would attack pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists at nightfall.
It is reported that the latest victim, Roy Blake known as ‘Choke’ was riding his bicycle around 23:00 hrs and was seriously injured when the canines pounced on him and he fell, hurting his face, head, hands and dislocating a shoulder.
Blake said he was made to fight for his life although suffering serious injuries to his shoulders.
The same dogs recently jumped on another Bounty Hall cyclist and tore his short and, in a different incident, a woman pillion rider on a motorcycle suffered injury.
Commuters, especially cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists are appealing for police action to remove the dogs from the public thoroughfare at night, for fear of attacks.
