A MAN who, less than two months ago, was bonded to keep the peace for a period of six months but defied the order and made use of threatening language to his wife, again, has been sent to prison. Sukhdeo Deonarine was charged and taken before Magistrate Zamilla Ali to answer the new charge of threatening language and explain why he breached the conditions of his bond.
Given a chance to speak at Vigilance Court, East Coast Demerara, on Monday, Deonarine pleaded guilty to the offence and told the court he was sorry for his actions.
However, Magistrate Ali, noting his seeming inclination to continuously harass his wife, in addition to having no regard for being on probation, sentenced the 45-year-old welder to one month imprisonment. (O.Patterson)
