COLIN Welch, 29, of Lot 1715 Nineteeth Street, Diamond Housing Scheme, charged with the Houston Public Road causing death on November 25, was granted $400,000 bail yesterday. He appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and pleaded not guilty to the charge, which said he committed the offence on East Bank Demerara, when he drove in a manner dangerous to the public and caused the death of Tony Singh.
Welch was represented by Senior Counsel Rex Mc Kay, who said the defendant is not a flight risk and will attend court to clear his name.  
The case will be called, again, on December 18.
