CITIZENS BANK Guyana Limited on Wednesday handed over a $250,000 cheque to the Help and Shelter Organisation of Guyana.
The presentation was made at the Camp and Charlotte Streets branch of the Bank and the cheque was handed over to Representative of the Help and Shelter, Margaret Kertzious by the Audit Manager, Ms. Uma Joseph.
According to a release sent out by the Help and Shelter, the bank donated this cheque in support of their 18th anniversary in business.
This contribution on behalf of the bank is in keeping with its mandate to support the work of intuitions who are working to reduce social ills in Guyana.
Help and Shelter is a non-governmental organisation working towards the reduction of domestic and gender based violence in the society thorough its public education outreach programme, counseling, and the provision of a shelter, court support and referrals.
Ms. Joseph in an invited comment indicated that the Bank has made this decision after much thought and she is pleased to hand over this cheque to the organisation as the Bank is aware of the entity’s efforts to make Guyana better for those who are shunned and rejected in society. (Savitri Laikram)
