ACCORDING to opposition media headlines: “Luncheon’s ‘rumble’ statement sparks fiery protest”.
Really? If Dr. Luncheon’s statement sparked fiery protest, then what should have taken place all across Guyana when the opposition PNC said they will apply “slo fiah and mo fiah”; “make the country ungovernable” if the PPP/C wins election; and if government does not share power with the PNC, then “there will be no Guyana”?
First it was Buxton, then they moved on to Linden, and now on to Agricola; so the people are asking where next?
Blocking roads and burning tyres and debris across the road have nothing to do with legal protest.
These are meant for one thing and one thing only, and that is to rob innocent people; so their mission was accomplished.
Second mission accomplished was the demoralization of the police so that they will have to think millions of times over before trying to apprehend certain criminals, even when the police are facing the barrels of gun-toting criminals.
I said it before, and will say it again, those who are stoking the fire for these lawless, frivolous and illegal protests will never be held accountable, and this is why the misguided are allowed to move from Buxton, to Linden, and now Agricola.
I wonder what would happen to me if I were to tamper with a crime scene by removing a surveillance tape which could possibly identify a killer?
It was widely reported that a known, prominent lawyer did exactly this, but nothing happened to that lawyer.
I wonder what would have happened to me if I were heard on tape saying I will plant illegal drugs on someone when they come to the airport?
Well, we all know what happened to that prominent lawyer. He is now an executive member of the AFC political party.
We also know what happened to the person who was heard on tape saying he will plant drugs on a citizem, he is now a PNC member of parliament, as well as chairman of that party.
Innocent people will continue to be robbed in broad daylight when those who are hungry for power are not held accountable and responsible for their words and actions.
This is a very sad time for Guyana and Guyanese indeed.
