THE Steve Ninvalle-steward Guyana Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) will, over the next two days, commencing at 18:00hrs this afternoon, punch off its National Novices Boxing Championship at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue.

This championship, which will see over 30 of the country’s Simon Purées coming from out of town to do battle for supremacy, will kick-start a hectic final three months for GABA, as the Demerara Distillers Limited/Pepsi-sponsored Under-16 tournament will take place on the 20th and 21st of this month.
That tournament will be followed by the National Intermediate Championships, scheduled to take place within the first week in November, followed by the National Open Championships one month later.
