ESAN Lawrence (no address given) appeared in court yesterday, charged with larceny from the person committed at GuyExpo.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded not guilty to stealing a gold band valued $90,000 from Rakesh Narine, on September 30, at the Sophia Exhibition Complex.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was at GuyExpo when the defendant snatched the jewel.
But Narine reported the theft to a police officer on duty and pointed out the defendant who was arrested.
Lawrence was ordered to post $150,000 bail until October 12.
