AN early morning fire yesterday razed the building accommodating cadets of the Standard Officer Cadet Course # 45 at the Guyana Defence Force’s Base, Camp Stephenson. The fire, of yet unknown origin, occurred at approximately 03:25 hours and struck while the officer cadets were engaged in a training exercise in the accommodation.
All the Officer Cadets are safe and unharmed.
The Guyana Defence Force will replace all military and personal items and the course is being briefly suspended to facilitate this.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
