POPULAR sports administrator, former national player, coach and present President of the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), Lenny Shuffler,is recovering after Friday’s robbery at Toucan Industries Limited, his place of employment where he was shot and robbed of approximately $2M by two armed men on a motor cycle outside his Water Street, Kingston, operation. Speaking with this newspaper, Shuffler recalled the attack as being well planned and executed and said that he was thankful for his reaction to the surprised approach of the two men attacking him, carting off the daily sales and shooting at his driver and others present.
Shuffler was shot just above the right ankle after being attacked by the robbers. He is now relaxing at home and mentioned that management made immediate recommendations to improve security at the location.
Shuffler, has represented Guyana as a player, coach and administrator and lately was instrumental in the GVF receiving the Tara flex floor at the National Gymnasium.
