NICOLE Jones of Lot 19 Plum Park, Sophia, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. It is alleged that on July 31, at her home, she assaulted her reputed husband, Royston Gordon, so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
She pleaded guilty to the charge, and explained that her actions were not intentional; she merely attempted to take away a lighted cigarette from the virtual complainant as he was going to burn her, and in that attempt, he sustained burns instead.
Corporal Simone Payne, prosecuting, informed the court that the man suffered burns to his abdomen, however, the medical certificate revealed that the burns were found on Gordon’s neck.
Jones was placed on a six-month bond to keep the peace with her husband, and was ordered to seek professional help.
