The Kaieteur News is wicked as it misleads opposition supporters

It is sad to see once again that journalistic ethics in the private media have dropped far below par. In its attempt to once again misrepresent facts and mislead the people who support the opposition in this sensitive period, the Kaieteur News has done it again. The article of Friday August 03, 2012, under the caption “Linden protestors’ shooters identified – Crime Chief”, which purported to contain information coming from the Crime Chief ,was soundly rebuffed by him on the same day.
According to the Police, in the article remarks are attributed to Deputy Commissioner “Law Enforcement” Mr. Seelall Persaud, DSM, who is alleged to have told Kaieteur News reporter Michael Jordan that “The policemen who shot and killed three Linden protestors have been identified”.
While Mr. Seelall acknowledges that he did speak to Mr. Jordan, he categorically denied ever telling the Kaieteur News  reporter that police ranks had shot and killed the protestors or that anyone else had shot and killed them.
It is sad, unfortunate and wicked for a news media publishing house to go to the lengths that the Kaieteur News is going to mislead followers of the opposition parties.
