Dancehall stars Spice, Macka Diamond added to International Night lineup

TEAM Hits and Jams always serves up the hottest acts for the annual Jamzone Summer Break festival. Now the team has added two female Dancehall megastars to that lineup to give you a diverse showcase of talent. Jamaican singers Macka Diamond and ‘Jim Screechie’ star Spice will be adding a touch of female finesse to the anticipated show.
Since the early 90s, Macka Diamond, formerly known as Lady Mackerel, has been dominating Dancehall music, and has earned multiple titles, including Reggae/Dancehall music’s most coveted award, ‘Female DJ of the Year’ for three consecutive years.
She has also won 2011 International Reggae And World Music Award (IRAWMA).
The singer, who coined the catchy phrase ‘Money-O’, has changed the game for female Deejays all across the Caribbean. With her uncompromising, bold and witty display of desire for the almighty dollar, Macka Diamond challenged the male-dominated culture of Jamaica and won.
Her younger counterpart, Spice, whose real name is Grace Hamilton, has diligently followed in the footsteps of her predecessor, and continues to enjoy unprecedented success in the music industry with her multiple hits, such as ‘Jim Screechie’, ‘Fight Ova Man’ and the popular Vybz Kartel collaboration, ‘Ramping Shop’ which had become a fixture on the Billboard R&B charts, debuting at #96 spot.
Both artistes are known for hyped, entertaining, crowd-pleasing performances. The show is billed for August 25 at the Guyana National Stadium.
