I FEEL the decision to host World Olympics during the Holy Month of Ramadan is a disregard for Muslims. Ramadan is a month in which it is obligatory that Muslims fast during the day. Muslim countries in the Middle East that usually take part in the Olympics are thus given a message by the promoters and organizers that, “we don’t respect you and your religion, we don’t take you into consideration”, a fact which is increasingly being expressed in the open, considering the many acts of disregard for lives, property and religion of the Muslims.
Muslim countries are at the mercy of the many schemes hatched by the ‘West’. First came PROPAGANDA, an effective weapon used by the western dominated ‘media’ – Muslims being portrayed as ‘bad’ people, ‘extremist’, ‘suicide bombers’, ‘fighting and killing’.
The truth is these few ‘bad’ people were created as agent of SUBTERFUGE and injected into Muslim societies. They pose more problems to Muslims than to their ‘Masters’. This fact is being realized by many important personalities in the West, who after spending some time in Muslim countries have decided to become Muslims.
The more I look at the Middle East and current affairs, the more I admire the Islamic Republic of Iran, the most dignified of all Muslim countries. They have even developed a technology to add clothing to especially female athletes who are terribly poorly clad to make them presentable to the Iranian viewers.
The watching of poorly clad women is forbidden in Quraanic injunction and especially apprehensible for a true Believer during the Holy Month of Ramadan. One of the etiquette of fasting is to ‘restrain the eyes from looking at things that should not be seen’. This includes the women athletes who would not be properly clad. How much regard do the organizers of the Olympics have for Islam?
How would Muslim athletes compete while fasting? Naturally they would be at a disadvantage. All the ‘gold’, ‘silver’ and ‘bronze’ will go to the ‘West’.
Well, that has been happening every day for centuries and also includes the ‘diamonds’, ‘copper’ and the ‘black gold’. This whole affair of keeping the Olympics in the Holy month of Ramadan is, maybe a scheme to lure Muslim countries into sidetracking their religious obligations.
This would definitely be another test to see how ‘Islamic’ Muslim countries are, most of which have failed at present and in the near past with respect of holding a true Islamic standpoint.
I, like many of the other 2 billion Muslims worldwide love to watch Olympics, but would surely miss much of it as our religious observances during the Holy Month of Ramadan gives us limited time to watch TV and besides much would not be presentable to watch.
I really hope that Muslims do not fall into the ‘lure’ of another ‘scheme’ by the ‘West’ and neglect their religious obligations which carries bountiful benefits during this month.
Having the Olympics in the Holy Month of Ramadan is disregard for Muslims.
