Unlicensed guns, ammo found by police in separate incidents

POLICE yesterday retrieved a .32 pistol with eight rounds in a bag on a trail at Mahdia while patrolling the area. At about 01:10 hrs ranks of a mobile police patrol at Mahdia were travelling along a trail when they were seen by a man who dropped a bag and escaped into the bushes. A .32 pistol with eight rounds was found in the bag.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, police arrested a man in the city after they found an unlicensed gun and ammunition on Saturday.
Police reported that at about 17:30 hrs on Saturday ranks of a mobile police patrol stopped and searched a man at D’ urban Street, Georgetown, in whose possession was found an unlicensed .32 revolver with seven rounds.
The man is in police custody and will be charged shortly.
