DEODAT Balram (no address given) appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore yesterday, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. It has been alleged that on July 16, at Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, Balram unlawfully and maliciously assaulted his wife, Bibi Asheena.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge, and the woman indicated to the court that she did not wish to proceed with the matter against her husband.
As such, the matter was dismissed, but Balram was severely cautioned about his behaviour towards his wife.
