THE Private Sector Commission met yesterday to consider the resignation of its Chairman, Mr. Yog Mahadeo, and to decide on the election of a new Chairman. In accepting the resignation, the Commission said it “wishes to recognise the considerable contribution” which Mr. Mahadeo has made over the many years he has served the Commission both as a member and as the last Vice-Chairman.
Additionally, the Commission has decided to convene a Special General Meeting of the Council to receive nominations from the members of the Council to elect a Chairman.
In the Interim, Vice-Chairman Mr. Clinton Urling will assume responsibilities of the Chairman and will preside over the Special General Meeting.
The Special General Meeting will be held on Wednesday July 25, 2012.
