GUYANA Power & Light Inc. (GPL) has announced that, as a precautionary measure, the Onverwagt Power Station was shut down at 09:10 hrs on Monday, July 9.
That was due to unsafe water levels resulting from heavy and persistent rainfall along with high tides. As a result, consumers in West Berbice had been without electricity until 11:45 hrs and GPL regrets the inconvenience caused by the interruption.
