GT&T Race of Champions… Vieira’s Supreme V-Power triumphs in Group IV

After an exciting day of motor racing at the South Dakota Circuit, Mark Vieira with his ‘V-Powered’ Mazda RX-8 motor car won two of the three races in Group 4 in the GMR&SC GT&T Race of Champions second round at the South Dakota Circuit, yesterday. Chet Singh remained unbeaten in the Group 2A category; Group one was won by Mahendra Bethune; Stanley Ming Jnr. was the unbeaten champion in the Go-Kart category and Andy Rajkarran won the 125cc Motorcycle category.
The meeting saw exciting and competitive racing as the fans got their monies worth in everyone of the 16 scheduled events
The big guns took on the circuit and the Group 4 racers were off with Andrew King taking the lead until it was over, to beat Vieira and Irfaan Kalamadeen into second and third respectively.
After a brief shower, Group four boys returned, this time it was Vieira who won the second and third races unchallenged.
The opening race which involved the 2A racers saw Singh make an early move and took command of the race and remained unchallenged until the end.
The motorcycles were next to take the circuit as they too drew the crowd to their feet with Rajkarran delivering a usual thrilling performance to win the first race. When the 125 bikers returned to the circuit, Heeranand Boodhram took the flag after Rajkarran fell in the race leading the group.
Afraz Alli racing in Group 2B commanded the four-lap race and eventually won it in exciting style.
Chet Singh continued his dominance in the Group 2A category as Andy Rajkarran returned to win the latter of the 125 motorcycles.
