TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD Sandeep Loachan, of Sparta Village on the Essequibo Coast, hanged himself at around 20:30 hrs Monday night.
It was reported that the unemployed man committed suicide after an argument. He was under the influence of alcohol when he took his own life with a piece of rope dangled from a mango tree at the back of his parents’ School Street yard in Sparta.
The family had, earlier in the day, held a thanksgiving service but he did not attend. Instead he arrived home late, intoxicated and became involved in the argument with family members.
Sandeep was the eldest of three children and police are investigating his death.
