FISHERMAN Krishna Bissoondial was ordered to post $80,000 bail on Tuesday, after he pleaded not guilty to a charge of fraudulent conversion. Before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo at New Amsterdam Court, the defendant, 37, of Lot 158 Main Street, Cumberland, East Canje, also in Berbice, is alleged to have been entrusted, by Muntaz Yassim, with the sum of $160,000, to deliver to Chandrawattie Bhainoo, but, instead, converted the money to his own use and benefit .
Particulars of the offence said it was committed on March 18, in Pitt Street, New Amsterdam.
The case will be called, again, on July 27.
