Republic Bank staff tries their hands at painting

— outside St Sidwell’s School
MANAGERS joined staffers of the Republic Bank‘s Water Street Branch to paint a new pedestrian crossing outside St Sidwell’s Primary School at Cemetery Road and Hadfield Street, Lodge. They were supervised by ranks of the Guyana Police Force Traffic Department.
Mr. N. Alli, Assistant Manager of the Republic Bank’s Treasury Department, indicated that as part of its mission statement, the bank would undertake community development, give donations, and involve itself in other charitable activities for needy communities and organisations.
For the first quarter of this year, the staffers had undertaken to rehabilitate the pedestrian crossing at St Sidwell’s School.
Alli noted that, over the years, many organisations, communities and institutions have benefited from the Republic Bank
project. He expressed gratitude to the staffers for their turnout, and appreciation to the Guyana Police Force Traffic Department for smoothly coordinating the activity.
He also said that this project would assist the teachers, students, parents and elderly folks attending the St. Sidwell’s School and church. The area identified as very busy to vehicular traffic, the crossing would serve as a major assistance.
Republic Bank, a major institution in Guyana, has been assisting in community development, sports, and other projects across Guyana.
