11-year-old flees Clonbrook home

– was spotted boarding bus at #52 Village, Corentyne
ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD Devika Seelall has been missing since Saturday last, after fleeing her Lot 121 Beehive, East Coast Demerara home.
Her father, Preetam Seudass, told the Guyana Chronicle yesterday that it is the first time his daughter has fled home, and family members are urging the public to report any sightings of the Clonbrook Primary School pupil to the nearest police station, or to contact them via telephone # 685-1970.
He said family members have, since Saturday last, been trying to contact Devika via her cellular phone, but succeeded only once, and up to press time the phone has been turned off.
Seudass detailed receiving a telephone call stating that Devika was spotted at Number 52 village, Corentyne, Berbice, on Saturday, but she quickly entered a passing minibus and left the village.
He said she had probably gone there to stay, since the family has a house in that village, but she has not since been seen.
Seudass is unsure whether his daughter had been seduced, since she never displayed any untoward behaviour at home; but he said that once she returns home, they would have to monitor her movements and talk to her.
The fisherman said he just wants his daughter to return home, and is appealing to members of the public to assist the family in locating the child.
