Central High School Overseas Chapter assists local cricket team for Sir Garfield Sobers U-19

AT a small presentation ceremony yesterday afternoon in the office of the Principal of Central High School, Kamlawattie Balroop, former student Reginald Lowe, on behalf of the School’s New York Chapter, presented a number of cricket gear to the head teacher. This donation came at an opportune time, when the school’s male cricket team is preparing for the Annual Sir Garfield Sobers Under-19 tournament which will take place in Barbados from July 8 to 26.
The squad is currently being coached by Lowe who is being assisted by Renwick McDonald, another former student of the school.
Balroop expressed thanks on behalf of the students, teachers and parents of the school and explained that this donation will equip the students in a professional way and as such will help as a motivation tool when they head into the tournament.

The squad in training for the tournament are; Samuel Fraser, Haleem David, Shaquille Leung, Sherwin Garnett, Denzil Boyce, Shiraj Permanand, Yoganand Singh, Prakash Singh, Mark Permaul, Jacob Beresford, Quince Austin, Jamaal Norton, Kareem Naughton, Bilaal Jabar, Daren Best, Keshan Persaud, Denzil Allen and Nichosie Barker.
