Caution statement found voluntary in Bunty murder case

WITNESSES were called to testify in the Nohar Bahadur, called ‘Bunty’, murder trial yesterday. The substantive case started  yesterday after the voir dire (a trial within a trial) held before Justice Franklyn Holder concluded with the  judge ruling that the oral and written caution statement taken by the  police, from the accused, was  obtained freely and voluntarily.
Sherwin Barnwell, called Reeya or Rio, is indicted with the unlawful killing of Nohar Bahadur, between the 24th and 25th of December 2006.
Miss Zamilla Ally and Miss Dianne Kaulesar are prosecuting.
Miss Norma Lewis, Attorney-at-law is defending.
