Kwasi Murder trial aborted

…juror with hearing defect knows relatives of deceased
AT the Demerara Assizes, the Kwasi Wilson murder trial was aborted Thursday, after it was discovered that a juror of the 12-member panel, whose hearing is defective, had known a relative of the deceased.
After this information was brought to the attention of the trial judge, Justice Roxanne George, the trial was aborted. The jury was discharged and another panel will have to be selected to try the accused, Eon Williams, called ‘Georgie’, for the murder of Kwasi Wilson in April, 2007.
The accused is being defended by Attorney-at-law, Mr. Compton Richardson.
Conducting the case for the prosecution are DPP lawyers Miss Retina Singh and Miss Konyo Sandiford.
