Hang the killers when found guilty

THE brutal murder of Enmore grocery store watchman Rudolph Narine has brought home the stark reality that the once secure community is fast becoming a haven for drug-addicted thieves. And if nothing is done to arrest the problem, the situation threatens to reach alarming proportions where criminals could reign as they once did in another East Coast Demerara village only a few short years ago. Will history be allowed repeat itself?
The not so long ago East Coast Demerara village the media talked about is Lusignan, where it appears like others had plans to take that entire village like how Wismar was taken many years ago.
Seventy-one-year-old Karamchand Panchoo called ‘Guru’ was this morning found face down in a pool of blood at Tage fowl farm located at Don Robin on the Corentyne.
A 56-year-old mother of six was early yesterday morning found dead with her clothing disturbed at a shop.
It would appear that the government is finding it difficult to bring crimes under control and is not even trying to do a thing about it.
You bet police and community police groups know most of these drug addicts but are afraid to take any action against them for fear of opposition and GHRA tongue lashing.
This government is now once again being urged to take the bull by the horns and come what may,  try to put a stop to these senseless killings.
What will it take the government to change laws that when these killers are caught, tried and found guilty to hang these killers and put them out of their miserable lives.
How many more must be raped and killed before serious action is taken by government in order to protect all its citizens?
