Toddler severely burnt

A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl was late yesterday afternoon, rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital, nursing severe burns to the legs, arms and abdomen. Details of how the child suffered the injury were not immediately available, but the child who lives at Annandale, East Coast Demerara was accompanied by her grandmother in a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ambulance, which was in the area and promptly responded to the mercy call.
The incident has come at a time when the Guyana Burn & Healthcare Charitable Foundation of Canada has teamed up to hold yet another Nurses’ education training programme at the Georgetown Public Hospital.  The training which gets underway at 9:00hrs today, will be held at the Hospital’s Multi-purpose Room, Maternity Building Compound and will see a number of specialists – local and overseas based, lecturing on a number of topics.
The toddler will likely be evaluated by the visiting team.
