Linden Town Week from April 22 – 30

LINDEN Town Week 2012 will kick off with a farmers’ exhibition on Sunday, April 22, at the Linden Bus Park at 09:00hrs, followed by a formal opening ceremony at 16:00hrs at the same location. A church service at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Ground is also on the agenda for the opening day.
On Monday, April 23, the LDT School Mentorship Programme will be hosted at the Egbert Benjamin Centre at 09:00 hrs and the launching of Region 10 Civil Society Organisation Forum will take place at the Watooka Club at 10:00 hrs.
The Basketball Semi-Finals will also be played at the MSC Hard Court at 19:00 hrs and the Karaoke Finals at the same place at 20:00 hrs.
Another farmers’ exhibition is scheduled for the Linden Bus Park at 09:00 hrs on Tuesday, April 24 and the LFU Spelling Bee Competition at LICHAS Hall at 10:00 hrs.
An exhibition of visual arts will be hosted at 10:00 hrs in the Egbert Benjamin Centre.
On Wednesday, April 25, at the Linden Bus Park, there will be a third farmers’exhibition at 09:00 hrs and an educational workshop will start at 09:00 hrs, too, while the Linden Fund USA Recognition Reception will be held at 17:00 hrs at the Linden Enterprise Network.
A senior citizens’ luncheon will be held at 11:00 hrs and an exhibition of visual arts at 10:00 hrs in Egbert Benjamin Centre. The ‘Laugh Out Loud’ dramatic presentation takes place at the MSC Ground at 20:00 hrs.
A fourth farmers’ exhibition is planned at 09:00 hrs at Linden Bus Park on Thursday, April 26 and, among other activities planned for that day are the LFU Nursery Schools Teachers Workshop, LFU Nursery School Backpack Presentation, Amelia’s Ward Day, the LDT School Mentorship Programme, the Screw Richmond Memorial, Basketball Finals, Teachers’ in Concert, Football Finals, and Guinness Greatness Football Semi-Finals.
On Friday, April 27, the activities include Linden Expo, 10/10 Cricket Competition, Wismar Creole Night, Emerald and Ice Dance, Little Miss Pageant and Linden Forum.
On Saturday, April 28, a Linden Expo and the ‘All Black Party’ are planned.
A Linden Expo, Street Lime, Gospel Concert and International Concert are on the cards for Sunday, April 29.
The final day, Monday, April 30, will see the Upper Demerara Association 20/20 Football Finals, the Wash Down Party, the Mayor’s Reception and boxing.
