Guyanese duo impress for TT club

GUYANA’S Dion Ferrier and Kellon Carmichael impressed for their adopted club Aranguez Sports Club in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago last weekend, piloting them to a comfortable innings and 72-run victory over TT Prisons last weekend. Competing in the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board’s (TTCB) national two-day league championship, Aranguez won the toss and asked their opponents to take first strike.
Thanks to the bowling of Carmichael and Ferrier who both play for Malteenoes Sports Club in the Georgetown Cricket Association-organised first division tournaments, Prisons were dismissed for 135, with Carmichael taking 3 for 35 and Ferrier 2 for 17 from 13 overs each.
In reply, Aranguez reached 305 for 6 before declaring their first innings close, with Michael Browne hitting 110 and Ferrier unbeaten on 101.
Faced with a deficit of 179 runs, Prisons found the bowling of Ferrier and Carmichael too hot to handle and folded for 107, as the Guyanese shared six wickets between them, with Ferrier taking 3 for 11 and Carmichael 3 for 18.
