TWO members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) appeared in Court yesterday, jointly charged with robbery. Constables Tramain Ross, 21 and Jermaine Bernard, 20, both pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Allan Wilson, denying that, on March 6, they robbed Brazilian Antonio De Brito of $46,000.
Police Corporal Jairam Luckhai, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but requested it be in a substantial sum.Defence Counsel Hewley Griffith requested that reasonable surety be set, noting that the defendants are still serving members of the (GPF) and not flight risks.
Before granting them pre-trial liberty, on $15,000 each, Magistrate Wilson warned the duo that, if they did the crime, they will have to do the time.
The case will be called again on March 15.
