MOTILALL Lall of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, appeared before Sparendaam Magistrate Alex Moore to answer an assault charge, as he was alleged to have doused in pepper sauce both Shivani Mohammed, his common-law wife, and his daughter Regina Lall, at their home in Cummings Lodge, ECD.
Lall pleaded not guilty to the charge, and when asked if he had previously been charged with a similar offence, he told the court he had been previously charged with the offence of abusive language.
Prosecutor, Police Sergeant Bernard Brown, objected to bail on the ground that Lall was likely to continue his abusive behaviour if given pre-trial liberty.
Lall was remanded to prison until March 26, when his matter would be called for trial.
