OAS Secretary General pays courtesy call on Rohee

MINISTER of Home Affairs, Mr. Clement Rohee, received the Secretary General of the Organisation of American States (OAS), Mr. Jose Miguel Insulza, on Tuesday, at his temporary office in the Police Officers’ Training Complex, Camp Road and Young Street, Kingston, Georgetown. Also present was OAS Country Representative, Mr. Dennis Moses.
After the courtesy call, the minister said that the presence of the Secretary General in Guyana is very significant and expressed hope for continued cordial working relations with the OAS.
Insulza said Guyana is a strong democracy and the OAS is happy with the economic progress it is making.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with the Government in areas of mutual interest, such as security.
