SENSEI Amir Khouri remained the president of the Guyana Karate Federation (GKF) following the staging of their Biennial General Meeting (BGM) this past Sunday at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Thomas Lands dojo. At the event which commenced at 13:00hrs, Ivor O’Brien, Secretary General of the Guyana Olympic Association, presided as Returning Officer.
The Meeting was attended by members of the various affiliated associations Guyana Japan Karate Association (GJKA) – Thomas Lands, Japan Karate Association/World Federation – Guyana (JKA/WF-G) – National Park, Guyana Wado Ryu Karate Association (GWKA), Guyana Shotokan Karate International Federation (SKIF Guyana) and the Guyana Karate College (GKC).
Khouri’s executives include first and second vice-presidents Compton Dunbar and Dr Guy Low, Bernice Irving – secretary, Patrick Cheeks – treasurer and Bhagwandin Persaud – assistant secretary/treasurer.
The executive members would like to express their gratitude to O’Brien for taking time off from his busy schedule to support the federation and for giving his generous support in ensuring the smooth running of this election.
